Here we have a very nice set of the two types of U.S. WWII U.S. Navy NAF 1092 Leather Flight helmets, complete with a set of No.1065 Aviation Goggles. This set was obtained as part of a large aviation collection, and would be perfect for the budding collector!

This set includes:

- One U.S. WWII USN NAF 1092 Leather Flight Helmet. This chamois lined version of the Naval Aircraft Factory (“NAF”) Model 1092 flight helmet used by Navy and Marine Corps aviators during the war during regular conditions. It still has an original size tag that reads 7 3/4, a very large size, and it still has the original contract label:

There are signs of avionics being installed, however they were later removed, and there is no chin cup or strap present.

- One U.S. WWII USN NAF 1092 Winter Leather Flight Helmet with a chin cup. The winter, shearling lined, version of the Naval Aircraft Factory (“NAF”) Model 1092 flight helmet used by Navy and Marine Corps aviators during the war. It still has an original size tag that reads 6 7/8, and still has the original contract label:

The lens is distorted and somewhat degraded, and the strap is also definitely delicate and worn out.
